Role Summary:

The bilingual Market Development Coordinator is responsible for administering the career sales force marketing reimbursement programs and providing support for local market development activation and measurement. This includes managing ongoing communications with, and providing support and coordinating services for, Regional Vice Presidents, FC Managers, career sales force advisors and internal teams.

Main Accountabilities:


  • Administer and coordinate activities as part of the $1.25 million Market Development Fund and Share your Local Sun programs, including processing and tracking of reimbursements

  • Coordinate the oversight and payment of funding provided to career sales force advisors by mutual fund companies

Reporting and analysis

  • Conduct regular analysis to ensure efficient and effective use of funding and create monthly and quarterly reports on the use of market development funding at FC, regional and national level; use this data to make recommendations to leaders on the program's effective spend/activation

  • Analyze advisor and financial centre requests to determine if there is a gap in the services we offer. Propose solutions to fill these gaps

  • Generate monthly reporting and measurement across broader market development team

  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements

Marketing support

  • Consult with advisors and managers about local marketing initiatives, funding eligibility, and the broader market development needs of the career sales force; develop recommendations for best practices. Answer calls and provide appropriate assistance to callers on the Advisor Service Centre

  • Support and facilitate activation of sponsorships and donations at the local level, leveraging programs for sales productivity and leads

  • Provide subject matter expertise to represent needs of advisors in internal projects

  • Consult with Individual Marketing to ensure programs such as the annual calendar program, advisor stationary, and personalized material meet the needs of career sales force advisors

  • Participate in the marketing sessions of French advisor training schools

  • Support other market development and client activation team projects as required


  • Bilingual (French and English), strong communication skills; written and verbal

  • Advanced customer service with the ability to interact diplomatically with people at all levels of the organization

  • Analytical with strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and accuracy

  • Strong MS Office skills, with expert proficiency in Excel

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; work independently with minimal direction and frequent interruptions

  • Results and solution-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Team player, willing to contribute and help others


  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or communications-related field

  • Marketing and sales development experience

  • Experience working with the career sales force or other intermediary distribution channels

  • Presentation/training skills

  • Knowledge of relevant provincial licensing and holding-out regulations for the insurance industry

  • Knowledge of insurance and investment products and SLF services
