As a CIBC Financial Planning Consultant you are accountable for providing expert financial planning counsel that specializes in wealth management solutions working in partnership with CIBC branch based advisors. The team operates within the Investment Industry Regulatory Association of Canada (IIROC) framework or the Mutual Funds Dealer Association (MFDA).

Utilizing the IIROC regulatory platform or MFDA regulatory platform, Financial Planning Consultants provide customized retirement and investment-planning expertise to those clients whose investment needs require an in-depth personalized approach. These consulting services are available to all four market segments, Business Banking, Retail, Imperial Service and Private Wealth Management. Based on a client focused strategy it combines the expertise of its Financial Planning Consultants with "best in class" solutions which may include (dependent on the licensing of the Financial Planning Consultant), discretionary management solutions, the entire array of third party mutual funds and fixed income. Additionally, if you are IIROC licensed you will provide advice on the divestiture of individual equities. You will generate strong teamwork with CIBC relationship managers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and retention.
What You'll Be Doing
1\. Work with customers to analyze and identify their retirement and investment needs using appropriate retirement/investment planning methods/tools. Develop recommendations as to how customer retirement/investment needs can best be met and based on these, close the sale.
. Analyze customer portfolios and prepare retirement/investment plans.
. Interview customers to define and analyze their needs and goals, find gaps, discuss solutions, recommend appropriate asset mix and close the sale.
. Educate customers about their investments and their portfolio.
. Share results of customer discussions and coordinate the delivery of products/services sold with the relationship manager.
. Identify opportunities to make referrals to other CIBC subsidiaries involved in client asset management and discuss with the relationship manager.
2\. Establish and maintain teamwork with relationship managers within the branch network in order to identify current and potential High Value Customers with investment, business transition and estate planning needs and obtain referrals.
3\. Conduct information sessions/seminars with the CIBC sales force and current/potential customers in order to educate them regarding investment products/services, estate and business transition planning as well as the role of the Financial Planning Consultant, resulting in deepened client relationship.
4\. Stay up-to-date with current events, market information/ trends, products, etc. in order to provide sound investment advice to customers and share information with relationship managers.
5\. Establish and maintain a network of relationships within the delivery network in order to increase consolidation of High Value Client business.
