Framed original hand tinted photograph by FE Garrett Belyeas Point Lighthouse - New Brunswick, Canada by F.E. Garrett c.1910-1920. Beautiful hand colored photograph with lovely subtle colors, on original mat and frame shows a wonderful clear, close view of the distinctive wooden light tower. Established in 1898, the lighthouse is a square pyramidal wood tower with lantern and gallery painted white with red trim and lantern painted red. The lighthouse was rebuilt and slightly relocated following severe floods in the 1930s and is located on the west side of the river at the lower end of the Long Reach, about 2 miles north of Westfield . The mat is signed F. E. Garrett, a notable artist of the time on par with Wallace Nutting, Sawyer and Davidson. Superb detail, clear, crisp. A fine early image, beautifully hand colored.
