Canada Chinese New Year 1997-2008, Souvenir & Uncut Press Sheets

These are souvenir sheets that have been issued by Canada Post over 12 years. One each year from 1997 to 2008. In order of issue they include: the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, roster, dog, pig and rat. Only 250,000 of each was issued. For stamps, that is a very low issue and of course with high demand and limited quantity their value increases. Even rarer are the sets that contain the over print souvenir sheets. Only a few thousand of those were issued for special stamp shows in foreign countries. These stamps that Canada Post has designed are the best compared to those issued by other countries. They are beautiful works of art in themselves and incorporate delicate and complicated printing processes such as embossing and foiling. A regular set of all 12 souvenir sheets is SOLD OUT. ONLY SETS WITH SOME OVER PRINTS ARE AVAILABLE.

I do not have any of the regular sets left, I do have some special sets that are exactly the same, but have what is called an over print. For example in 1997, in the Year of the Ox issue, Canada Post sent some of the Year of the Ox souvenir sheets to the Hong Kong stamp show to be sold exclusively at that show. The souvenir sheets at that show had small special over prints on them in one corner indicating that they were from that show. These over prints are very rare. There were five shows ( Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Monkey and Rooster ) that special over prints were made for, but not all. So, what is left is full sets that have between three and five of these special over prints, depending on what you want. Of course the price will depend on the number of overprints you want included in a set (3, 4 or 5). I also have individual souvenir sheets available with the over print and with out the over print that would be good birthday gifts for people born in that year.

Set of 12 uncut press sheets with 12 stamps on a sheet are available . The uncut press sheets were printed in very, very low quantities from 15,000 to 30,000 depending on the year of issue.
