Description

1800s Victorian EDWARDIAN period INKWELL cut glass on wood base + 2 extra cut glass lids

… wood base could use a little TLC …

· charming period piece - old / well used & well-loved inkwell – if only it could tell us the stories & letters it helped compose! · round wood base has some ink stains & could be lightly refinished / base may have had one more foot – stands nicely without · darker wood finials & believe they might be pen rests · square cut glass inkwell with again cut faceted glass hinged lid / wonderful bubbles in the glass / full removable from base as shown in photo · age related tiny nibbles on edge of cover / none that I could feel on the actual inkwell · two extra faceted cut glass lids (no hinges) / one square / the other octagon – this one needs cleaning · base & rests measures: 7”Diameter x 4 ½”H · inkwell measures: 2 ¾”H x 2 ¼”Square (not including foot) · origin unknown · approx. late 1800s · $50.00 - shipping available
