Vintage 1975 Parker Brothers ZONE X board game

Zone X is a Mastermind type game from Parker Brothers. It is for two players, aged 10 to adult. The box graphics are very odd with some dude in a cape, cigarillo and cowboy hat standing in the background and some dame in a black dress in the foreground. Perhaps they were heading for a Sergio Leone western and ended up the wrong photo shoot.

Anyway the game is described online as a cross between Mastermind and Battleship. Here’s what it says on the bottom of the box:

In Zone X the players alternate in fixing a hidden target point "Zone X" on the Marker Grid. The opponent (Zone Breaker) attempts to zero in on the target using his search board. The Target Point is picked by the Zone Maker who then draws two intersecting lines on the Marker grid. This creates 4 Zones that are color-coded...The Zone Breaker calls Zone keys using his search board. The Zone Maker responds by stating the Zone color in which the key called lies. The Zone Breaker places a corresponding color peg into his search board and, using logic and luck, zeroes in on the target using as few pegs as possible...Zone X can be played at 3 levels of challenge related to: 1. Straight line zoning. 2. Curved line zoning. 3. Random shape line zoning.

The game is in very good condition with some ink on the box top and some tape on the box bottom. The marker grid, search board and the 62 pegs are all here. You will need a dry erase marker as the original marker and eraser are not here.

You can pick this up in Porters Lake. I do go into northend Halifax once a week during the lunch hour and could meet you there if that is easier.
