Six (6) black and white (B&W) prints by Thos. H. Shepherd, a prominent 19th century London architect and topographical artist well known for his architectural paintings.
The prints each measure 9” x 6” on 11½” x 8” cardboard and are in good condition but show some signs of wear from age and handling, mainly along the edges and print #1 has a slight bend in bottom left hand corner.
The 6 prints are:
#1 - St John’s and St Cuthbert’s, West End --- St John's Church at the West End of Princes Street
#2 - St Giles and High Street from Lawnmarket --- St Giles' Cathedral with a large rectangular cistern in front and Lawnmarket with elegant ladies examining wares
#3 - John Knox’s House, High Street --- Edinburgh
#4 - George Street and St. Andrew’s Church --- George Street looking towards St Andrew's Church and Melville Monument
#5 - Waterloo Place and Calton Hill --- Waterloo Place, The National and Nelson's Monuments, and Calton Hill, Edinburgh
#6 - The Calton Hill and Old North Bridge --- road bridge and street in Edinburgh linking the High Street with Princes Street and the New Town with the Old
