The 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition Official Souvenir Medal was produced for the 1904 St. Louis fair where the centennial of the Louisiana Purchase was celebrated. These official souvenir medals were struck in various metal compositions including silver, gold, gold-plated bronze, copper, yellow-bronze, bronze and gilt. This example was struck in Silver and is listed as HK-299 in the Hibler-Kappen reference on So-Called Dollars.

A mere 6,002 were minted and this one although officially ungraded was visually graded by my local coin shop at an MS-63. This coin looks like it did from the day it was minted with no patina or markings. Pictures shown are not my actual coin but are a match in color and quality. My pictures just wouldn't do it justice.

Asking $250. These sell for as much as $400 in this condition.
