    Description

Very nice oak two level parlour table with quarter sawn top. Size is 29" tall and top is 27 x 20 inches. This table comes from the WALKER HOUSE in Kincardine on Lake Huron. Its now a Heritage Centre museum. I purchased it in the late 90's at a fund raiser auction for the restoration of the Francis "Paddy" Walker house which was built in 1850 as an INN for the developing region. History buffs can read more info here, http://www.greybruceyourway.com/walker-house-kincardines-heritage-centre Due to the fire in 1995 the original finish on the table charred beyond repair, so the table has been refinished. It still has the original manufactures label attached to the underside. It reads THE HAMEL FURNITURE & UPHOLSTERY MANUFACTURES OF HPHOLSTERED GOODS, DINERS, LIBRARY TABLES AND CENTRE TABLES MILDMAY ONT http://collectionscanada.gc.ca/pam_archives/index.php?fuseaction=genitem.displayItem⟨=&rec_nbr=000003317834 Nice useable table with an interesting history / provenance! 586
