For Sale By Owner
More Info Vintage, Antiques

Manitoba became Canada's fifth province when it entered Confederation in 1870. Offered for sale here is a set of two vintage bronze/brass commemorative medals mounted in a red pressboard with gold lettering. On the front of each medal is the Manitoba Shield of Arms granted by Royal Warrant of King Edward VII with lettering “1870-1970 Manitoba”. The shield consists of the Cross of Saint George, a symbol of England and a bison. The bison represents the once-vast herds of bison which once roamed freely throughout the province and provided food and clothing not only to the Aboriginals, but to the early settlers as well. The reverse reads Canada Commemorative along with the prairie crocus or 'pasque flower' that was named Manitoba's provincial flower in 1906.

This set of two beautifully struck uncirculated medals is available for only $15 or best reasonable offer.
