J. Lytes Coal Merchant is from the Heritage Village Collection, in the Dickens Village Series issued by Department 56 in 1997 and retired in 1999.

This is one of the first J. Lytes Coal Merchant buildings fired and it was incorrectly stamped on the bottom DICKENS VALLAGE SERIES.

Every Dickens village needs a coal merchant as that was the source of heat and cooking then.

It is in excellent condition and comes with original packaging and slip cover.
