Vintage English Brass Coal Box 1940’s

An English Brass Coal Box 1940’s This is a lovely early to mid 20th century Coal Box. The English used to make these elaborate deep relief brass decorated coal boxes to sit beside the fireplace and hold their coal for burning. This one has designs of a Shepherd and his sheep and an emblem of two crossed torches at the front. See pictures. Nice clean interior with original metal insert. These days they make great kindling boxes, or left open are great planters with a fern as a decor piece. It can also just serve as a beautiful brass vintage decor piece. Original patina. This coal box measures 51cm 16 1/2” Long, 12 1/2” wide by 13” high. Insert is 14” long, 9 1:2” wide and 9” deep. Asking $60
