On the reverse side is a description of the painting and information about the artist. Below this information it is signed, “Malcolm R. MacDonald Aug 15, 1986”. About The Artist Dr. Malcolm (Mac) R. MacDonald was a prominent and talented individual growing up and living in both Bruce and Grey Counties. He grew up just outside of Kincardine, attended Lucknow District High School and graduated from the Kitchener-Waterloo School of Nursing in 1964 which lead to a prominent career in nursing, administration in nursing, and teaching nursing in Health Care environments both in California and in Grey-Bruce. Returning to Canada he was vice-president of patient care at the brand new 400 bed Grey Bruce Regional Health Care (now GBHS - Owen Sound) Malcolm’s artistic talents could be seen and heard throughout the community: his poetry and writing have been published both internationally; his gardens were featured on numerous tours and television shows; he was an active painter with the Victoria Park Gallery in Kincardine. To appreciate a better understanding of Malcolm’s life, one would have to read his complete obituary. I could send a copy to those with an interest in this painting.
