This is a set of 4 Pimpernel corkboard placemats with various scenes of Ontario, Canada, in the early days of settlement. The artwork depicts the following scenes:|
- The Rideau Canal, Bytown (now Ottawa), 1841
- Kingston (showing soldiers overlooking Lake Ontario)
- Fish Market, Toronto, 1841 (buyers and sellers, also on the shores of Lake Ontario)
- Toronto, 1841 (a waterfront scene)
All four placemats are in very good - excellent condition, one is still wrapped. They measure just a bit under 12" (30 cm) across and 9" (23 cm) tall.
Pimpernel products are known for their quality construction and their elaborate designs. This is a nice set of placemats with a historical theme.
