Antique Cast Iron FIREBOX, coal/wood log FIREPLACE BASKET INSERT

Turn of Century era, exact age unknown, this heavy cast iron fire basket insert has unique woven metal banding on front & sides, highlighted with rosettes on the top and curved bars below. The bottom grate tilts or pivots for easy ash dump. This grate is original to the piece and since it can be easily removed, is often missing. The solid back panel measures 17 inches at its highest point, having an attractive geometric design pattern. Width at front is 20 inches, width at back is 17.5 inches. Depth from front to back is 12 inches. Height to legs is 15.5 inches. There appears to be a forging stamp behind the top back panel, but it's not identifiable to me. There's a tight hairline crack at the middle of the back panel which will not interfere with its functionality.
