Imke Pearson born in Berlin, Germany in the 1930's immigrated to Canada in 1952. Working in the West Coast she became a listed Canadian artist in 1977 and has a solid reputation in glass painting and staining.
In her own words:
"I have created autonomous panels and commissioned stained glass windows for thirty years (1976-2006), and began experimenting with ¼ inch plate glass discs, hand cut to perfection.
This resulted in my watercolour, monotype series of “Eco-Planets” that just cry out to be embellished to stimulate the viewer’s own imagination!"
"I have painted all my life, even while teaching English and Math in the 1960s. And like a musician who plays many instruments, I paint in many different styles with watercolours or acrylics."
Creativity is addictive! I paint with passion and I feel privileged to share and give joy with my works to so many. I also paint with our four granddaughters every chance I get.
