Ruth Gibson, a London, Ontario based painter travelled all over Ontario for her inspiring subjects. One of her favourites was in the Muskoka region of North-Western Ontario, especially a rugged area around Stewart Lake.
Good fishing, good camping and great painting area. The weather changes rapidly from one minute to the next and it never fails to be interesting. The fishing mostly is for smallmouth bass and pike.
This is of a beautiful autumn day still left over from summer, where the shallows are clear and inviting and the first of the leaves have started a change.
I'd love to get to know this wilderness better than I do now. You come here to get away from everywhere and everything else.
Frame and painting are in good condition but there is a small chip in the gold surround of the matting.
