Description

WW2 Supermarine Spitfire used Voltage and Amp gauges. These were actually used in a commonwealth Spitfire fighter during the war. You can see the Air Ministry (A M) mark with the crown along with the reference number on both. The volt gauge also has a date of 1941 on the face.

These gauges were located at the top of the dash to the right of the gun sight. The Spitfire actually used a 12 volt generator to power the electrical components in the cockpit.

Being 12 volt these could potentially be repurposed as gauges in an early 1940s/50s traditional hotrod build. That's why I picked them up. I have seen gauges like this mounted for home/office display with an aircraft picture also.

These gauges have not been tested. I haven't even cleaned them in any way.

The volt gauge has a small broken piece where one of the screws is located and someone has made a mess of the screw in that location. There are 2 other screws holding the gauge tightly together and you'd never see it when it's mounted. The amp gauge has what might be a short crack or just a scratch on the back. I've tried to show this in the pictures.

The hole size required to mount the looks to be the standard 2 1/16" The corner mounting holes are all in great condition.
