The Edelweiss Restaurant is a busy German-Canadian restaurant at the Edelweiss Inn Nova Scotia located in Mount Hanley (Annapolis Valley), Nova Scotia. We are looking for an experienced baker/pastry maker capable of preparing and decorating specialty desserts to a high European standard.
The position is permanent and full-time (40 hours/week), and the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a professional pastry maker, preferably in resort, cruise ship or banquet center environments.
The duties of the position include the following: creating handcrafted specialty tortes, wedding cakes, petit fours and chocolate sculptures from start to finish, ensure quality of products meets established standards, assist in drawing up production schedules to determine type and quantity of goods to produce, assist in purchasing baking supplies and assist in training and supervision of other personnel and kitchen staff as required.
Minimum required education: Secondary school diploma
Wage: $24/hour
Terms of employment: permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
