Summary of Position
The Bistro, at over 550 locations, offers hot and healthy breakfast selections and light evening fare, including soups, sandwiches, salads, snacks, cocktails, wine and beer so guests can relax and unwind.

Our Bistro Team Members master a wide variety of food & beverage functions, from serving Starbucks coffee and other beverages, to preparing and delivering meals and alcoholic beverages within allotted time frames.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Process all orders and collect payment from customers, and provide assistance in food & beverage areas including busing, cleaning, resetting tables, and delivering food to guests
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of food and beverage prep areas, counts the till at end of shifts, and follows property control audit standards and cash handling procedures
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
• Welcome and acknowledges all guests according to Marriott standard and thank guests with genuine appreciation
• Develop and maintains positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
• Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended time period
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
• Is available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Bistro/Banquets food and beverage operations as directed by the Operations Manager or immediate supervisor

Qualifications:
• Smart Serve certified
• Possess strong interpersonal skills as well as strong customer service skills
• Must have a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions
• Must be flexible with scheduling; mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and night shifts are all in order
• Possess basic mathematical skills and have the ability to handle money
• Have the knowledge to operate a point-of-sale system
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Bilingual an asset
