Although the integrity is rock-solid, the aesthetic state is consistent with the era of a century-old vintage with a trace of undeniable wisdom embedded in their forgotten past.
You may decide to retain the character marks for posterity or historical value but I’ll leave it up to the discretion of the new owner to refinish or not as long as they go to a good home! Because after all it’s a family heirloom.
