For Sale By Owner

For Sale, one CONN 60 B Bb trumpet also know as the Super Connstellation.

Made in 67 when CONN quality was high and made in Elkhart IN before the move to Texas where quality diminished greatly which led to the end of the CONN corporation and inferior quality instruments resulted.

This horn was owned previously by super jazz artist Chris LaBarbera who phoned me when he noticed it for sale on a US trumpet website. Chris had the serial number written down and when he confirmed that it was his horn which he played for over 15 years, talked to me about the many recordings and gigs he had done on it. Fabulous conversation with a great player and when I heard some of his recordings, it really blew me away. Listen for the high A down to a low F # near the end of the Concerto for Trumpet!

Google Chris LaBarbera and listen to Concerto for Trumpet and also the Airmen of Note trumpet hang where you can clearly see Chris holding the horn. He told me these recordings were made with this horn!

This trumpet has had a PVA by Ron Partch and Chris had Anderson overhaul the valves which remain tight and do not leak to this day. The valve overhaul was done in 98 according to Chris.

If your looking for a great lead/ballad horn, this is it. Just a great trumpet sound with superb intonation and response. From ppp to ffff it does not break up. the airflow is amazing with just the right amount of resistance to blow against.

Raw brass, scratch finish on bell, evidence of the bell being off likely for dent removal.

Only will sell to a pro player who understands the heritage of this fine horn and can appreciate the way it plays. Not for a novice or someone who can afford to own a rare horn for display and look what I got. 50 years old and can blow anything else away with a classic trumpet sound money can not buy.

I will only accept offers after you have played the horn so you will know just how good it is.

Comes with a CONN double trumpet case in excellent condition.
