Extremely efficient, one log will burn for several hours depending on size and species. You can also cook directly on top of them , roast marshmallows, hotdogs etc. It also raises the fire off the ground so they are easy to start if its damp. Take them camping, burn them in the backyard, no need for a fire pit. Kids love them and its a great experience for the whole family.
To light the torch insert small twigs / kindling and a bit of paper into the cuts of the log add a little more on top of the log and start the wood / paper ontop of the log on fire. embers will drop down in to the cuts and ignite the remaining kindling.
Logs are about 18" high and are all hardwood
