Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Monkey is a big, beautiful, 4 year old, tabby male. He was surrendered to the Guelph Humane Society when his owner's newborn baby developed serious allergies. Unfortunately Monkey was very unhappy in the shelter environment as he did not get the affection he craved and he was taken intro foster care through GRAB.
Monkey is tall and lean with a long, thin tail and amazingly gorgeous, striped toes. He enjoys a game of fetch or âbirdie-on-a-stringâ, but his favourite thing is lots and lots of cuddles. Monkey needs a lot of attention or he gets frustrated â he hates knowing something is going on in a part of the house he can't get to so he needs a home where he will have full access to the whole house.
Monkey is healthy and has been fully vetted. His teeth have a bit of plaque, but not unusual for his age. His fur was a bit dry upon arrival but a new diet of healthier food and an occasional brushing has already made a difference. He loves his toy mousey and plastic spring. He is a chatty boy and will happily carry on a conversation with you. His meow has a beautiful âpuurrruppâ quality.
Monkey gets along very well with the house dog, but not with the house cat. He would do best in a home with a confident, but polite dog, or no other pets, and a family with lots of love to give. Monkey's foster home has updated us that he seems to be frightened of young, busy children, so a home with no kids, or with older, calmer kids may be best!
Monkey is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $165. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet
While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.
Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.
Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.
When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
