Due to major health issues, I am retiring from breeding
Tonkinese cats. I must find homes for some retired Tonkinese and other domestic short hair cats that I have rescued. I am no longer able to care for them. These include age ranges of 3 to 10 years old. I have a blue and a platinum Tonkinese not yet adopted and the domestic short hairs include black, black & white tuxedo and tabby pattern. They have all been neutered or spayed. They are free to good homes. Please call for details 613-572-4251. I lost many previous inquiries because my phones (both home & cell) were changed and my computer had to be reset due to malware. If you are still interested, please contact me.
Photo 1 – Morph is a blue-eyed platinum point Tonkinese
approximately 10 years old. He was rescued a number of years ago from a bad home situation. He is a very affectionate boy. He wants to sleep with you and demands attention.
Photo 2 – Chico is a green eyed tabby approximately 7 years
old. Arrived in the neighbourhood, hungry and a little wild. Although he is aloof, he is also loyal. Likes to be close but also prefers his own space. He loves to try to fit himself into the smallest box or bag he can find. Favourite toys are new boxes brought into the house. Although he is an indoor cat, he does try to escape from time to time to check out his yard and the neighbours’ cats. We discourage this.
Apartment living might be best for him. He and Tommie are compatible.
Photo 3 – Tommie is a handsome black and white tuxedo dude
approximately 5 years old. He appeared on our semi-rural street at the end of a school year. Like Chico, he is a little aloof as well but enjoys being close to his humans. He is sitting on my computer as I type. Also likes to sleep on the bed, usually at the end. Likes
his toes tickled! He & Chico are compatible.
Photo 4 is Squirt. She is a blue eyed black girl born to a
feral mom in our area 3 years ago. We were afraid she was too shy and small to live on the street and brought her in. She is not very small now but still shy. She does not like to be picked up but loves to be brushed and of course, loves her food. I think she would do well, with patience and love, perhaps in a single cat home where she would get more individual attention.
Photo 5 – Zaboo is a beautiful aqua eyed blue mink Tonkinese,
9 years old. She is a retired mom and is shy until she gets to know you. She will take time to settle in. The way to her heart is through brushing. She gets excited when she sees my best friend arrive because she knows she will be getting a good brushing. Her best buddy is Winnie and I would like to see her adopted with Winnie.
Photo 6 – Winnie is a black short hair domestic approximately 7 years old. Winnie was found in a barn. The owners of the
property were going to turn her in to the Humane Society. She is a little overweight but healthy. She likes to be brushed and she also loves Zaboo. They frequently curl up together.
Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet
While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.
Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.
Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.
When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
