She is still healing from surgery and will be ready for adoption in 1-2 weeks. |
RESCUED CAT FOR ADOPTION!
She has already been:
- vaccinated (FVRCPx2&rabies)
- dewormed/free of fleas (Revolution/milbemax)
Her story: She is going to need an owner with a big heart! She is very friendly, sweet and has a big purr, but medically is a bit of a lemon! She was a pregnant stray from New Hamburg who was brought indoors, her 3 kittens were adopted 2 weeks ago and now she too is looking for a new home. She put on a lot of weight eating kitten food while her kittens were with her, so much that she developed hernia-like weaknesses in her abdominal wall, these weaknesses have been surgically repaired and she has not developed any more. We hope that since she is on a diet now she will not develop any more. She also has a moderate heart murmur (grade II-III). In some cases cats with this grade of heart murmur live normal full lives but it can be a sign of heart issues. She is not showing symptoms of heart issues (coughing, exercise intolerance), but it is possible that she may develop them in the future. This means that she may have a reduced life span. She is a rescue so her future health care would be up to you and your veterinarian to discuss how little or how much you want to do for her should she develop issues in the future.
She does not have a health guarantee but can be returned within 5 days if she is not working out for a full refund, or returned 5 - 60 days for no refund. If she becomes sick at any point in her life you would be expected to get her veterinary care.
The adoption fee is $20. She will come with a medical record, as well as a sample of the food she has been eating.

Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet
While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.
Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.
Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.
When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
