Description

Breed: Tabby
Age: Senior
Sex: Female
Size: M

Odie came into ARF’s care when her senior owner needed to enter a nursing home. The transition was difficult for two friends who had been family to each other for 10 years. Odie took the change with some difficulty, initially shutting down and avoiding all human or animal contact.

A young foster mom took on the challenge and welcomed Odie in to her home. At first, Odie hid in a closet and kept her back towards the door. Slowly she began to listen to the soft voice of her foster mom and ventured out. After two weeks of increasing contact, Odie ventured out of the bedroom and explored the house. There was a minor blip when she met the resident cat, but she soon convinced him that she was the boss.

Odie is not a playful cat, but she is a happy girl. She loves to sit at the window and watch the world go by, or sleep in a sunny spot. She loves to be petted, and enjoys a brushing. Although she is not fond of being picked up, she does like to settle in on your lap or beside you on the sofa. She loves to sleep with her foster mom and cuddle up.

Odie has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and received flea treatment and been treated for parasites. She uses her litterbox faithfully. A little on the chunky side, Odie is on food to help reduce her weight. Although she faithfully grooms herself, it is difficult for her with the additional weight. Odie is patiently waiting for her forever home. To give this sweet senior girl, please visit our website at www.arfontario.com!

Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
