In this interactive cooking class you will learn to make an ethnic plant based and gluten free meal, which you can then try for yourself.
Meal plans will be selected from different cultural backgrounds (Indian, Thai, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Ethiopian, Mexican, ...). Students can request specific types of foods to try for the following session. Recipes will be provided in class and in a follow up email.
The focus of the classes is to learn to prepare foods that are healthy, tasty, easy and cheap that are also environmentally sustainable and ethically based. I'll do my best to get ingredients that are local, organic and definitely non-GMO.
Students will get chances to participate in the preparation of the meal, discuss some of the health and environmental benefits as well as gain some valuable tips and tricks in preparing vegan, gluten free meals. It's also a great chance to meet new and like minded people!
It's important that you let me know about any allergies or intolerance ahead of time so I can take it into account in meal plan.
The theme for the next class is Thai food. The meal will include Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai and fresh spring rolls with dipping sauce. Also you can enjoy a cup of decaf ginger black tea. Date and time to be determined- likely to be on a Thursday or Friday night from 6-8pm at the Kitchen at Kitchener Farmers Market on King Street.
Please message me if you are interested in participating in this class.
