1970 ROVER 3500S

1970 ROVER 3500S P6 NADA In 1970 ROVER of UK exported around 2000 of this model to North America and less than 1,000 in 1971. Around 1966 Rover acquired the design and rights from BUICK / GM to manufacture the 215 CI (3.5 L) V8 with aluminum heads and block and coupled it to a Borg Warner model 35, 3 speed automatic transmission. The NADA ( N. American Dollar Area ) V8 models were equipped with; power windows, air conditioning, wrap around bumpers, side reflectors, automatic transmissions and the famous three hood scoops which were fully functional.

This car went to a Calgary Dealership and was purchased by a NW Calgarian who owned it for multiple years. It was later purchased by an Edmonton owner who drove it a few years then put it in storage for some twenty odd years and later revived by a father son team as a Covid project in Edmonton. It became a daily driver for a couple more years. In September 2023 it passed Insurance Inspection for Alberta and had all required work completed. Wheel bearings were removed, cleaned, repacked and adjusted. 4 wheel disk brakes inspected, rears are inboard. The SU side draft carburetors were just rebuilt with carb kits and synched. The ignition system has been tuned with recent points and condenser. Oil pressure is good. The alternator was rebuilt and bench tested with the voltage regulator and coil. Completed insurance safety and road worthiness inspection in September of 2023. Aluminum hood and trunk lid in good condition. All the lights are in good working condition. Power windows - all in good working condition. Original paint color is CORSICA BLUE in good condition. Tan interior is in respectable condition. Originally equipped A/C car but compressor is missing. Fantastic survivor in original condition. Great driver and / or candidate for full restoration. The body is in remarkable rust free condition with a few small dents and dings. The car drives nicely on the hi-way at 110 kph and is equipped with good tires.
