Commercial - Full Time Evening Cleaner

Reports to: Manager / Owner
Hours: 30-44 hours / week (Monday to Friday and Sundays)
Wage: $12.50/hour to start after 3 months (Probationary Period) $13.00/hour
Availability / Schedule: Mon - Fri Shifts 3pm - 3am (start and end time can vary depending on schedule) and every Sunday 9am to 5pm (start and end times can vary depending on schedule)

Purpose of Role: To provide the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene to the
company standards, within the contract specification and to the agreed performance levels.


Main Duties: Cleaners perform some or all of the following duties;

- Cleaning; mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, changing / disposing of garbage / recycling, clean bathrooms, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, floor care, restocking supplies, operating motorized machines.

- Responsible to perform work and use equipment in a safe, effective and professional manner

- Follow work schedule as assigned by management & supervisor (Must show up 15 mins prior to start time)

- Be aware of the condition of the equipment to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order. Report any faults to supervisor so equipment can be fixed or serviced.

- Comply with all policies/procedures and client site rules and regulations

- Report to supervisor leakage or plumbing problems; defective lights or lighting; door and/or gates not properly secured or defective latch systems. Other unusual circumstances which might affect the security, maintenance or effectiveness of client facility.

- Responsible to make sure all equipment returned after each shift.

- Keep commercial area neat and organized.

- Make sure company vehicle is locked / windows rolled up at all times when not in use. Car keys returned to key box each shift. Keep clean of garbage at end of shift.

- Communicate well and demonstrate a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring and friendly service to customers and clients in all areas of service

- Attend any meetings or training courses

- Follow company inventory system. (All stocked items are accounted for)

- Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.

Duties when supervisor not on site:

- Responsible for gathering and returning keys for clients scheduled at each shift

- Complete mileage log daily (always keep stored in vehicle glove box)

- Read any work orders, memos left by management and sign off appropriately. Share appropriate information with cleaners.

- Each shift complete timesheet (start time, end time and total hours worked for each staff)

- Complete Incident Reports as required. (supplies needed, vehicle is at ½ tank of fuel, injuries or accidents, lateness, broken/ lost or stolen equipment, time worked outside of regular schedule, clients and their staff working late and someone on site after cleaning is done, alarms not set, doors left unlocked when not suppose to be, doors locked when normally are not, extra cleaning needed outside of contract, etc.)

- Responsible to make sure all equipment returned after each shift.

- Keep commercial area neat and organized.

- Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaners. Allocate to the cleaning team, keeping within the specified detail of the each client contract.

- Inspect sites or facilities to ensure established safety and cleanliness standards / tasks have been met

- Train staff on company standards, policies and procedures
- Cover roles during periods of holidays and sickness.
Employment Requirements:

Minimum 1 year experience providing quality cleanings services
Valid G drivers licence with clean driving record (some exceptions apply)
Must have a clean Criminal Background Check
WHMIS Training
Must be able to lift 25lbs
Must be able to work as a team and independently
Must wear company uniform and be presentable and ready to work when at work
