Gen III ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) are designed for the winter warfighter. Designed to change how the American soldier can fight on the battlefield. Technically advanced materials combine with advanced garment design allowing the warfighter to comfortably operate in extreme cold conditions and extend their fight to the enemy.

The U.S. Army sought significant feedback from industry and soldiers to develop this fully integrated system. Based on layers systems utilized by mountaineering professionals, Gen III ECWCS incorporates seven layers of clothing that fit and function either alone or together as a system to provide the most options for the soldier.
