  • Description
(NOTE: Adoption pending! I may be slow to reply.)

Panzer is a year and a half old Presa Canario mix. We don't know what he's mixed with.

(In the photo with two dogs, he is the one up front. They are not related.)

Fixed male. Last shots were administered about half a year ago.

He is an incredibly sweet dog with a lot of love to give, but he is very touchy and will often follow you from room to room - which is fine, but it IS part of his personality to need and want to touch you all the time so please don’t contact me if this is a thing that might bother you.

He needs a lot of attention and I would prefer he goes to a home with at least one other dog so that he’s not alone during the day.

So basically he needs to be outside more and when he is inside he needs a playmate of some sort. Kids are great (he loves them!) but he will need some training not to pick up their toys, since that’s not something he knows about here.

- People, pretty much indiscriminately
- Kids
- All dogs (we’ve introduced him to many and he’s never exhibited any aggressive behaviour)
- Cats (though they often don’t love him back)

I cannot vouch for him around infants but would not recommend it anyway since the reason we are rehoming him is that he needs a lot of attention.

This dog has separation anxiety and there are some stressful things that come with it, I am rehoming him in the hopes of finding someone who has dealt with similar issues OR who has another dog, as having company seems to calm him down a lot.

If he’s left alone for any length of time over an hour he often finds something to chew and ruin even if you leave him lots of toys. This is why I’m hoping to find him someone who has another dog, so he won’t be alone during the day.

He cannot be left alone outside except to pee, especially tied up, I do have a 50-ft cord that we used at the trailer and he loved it there, but if we leave him alone tied off anywhere he just sits there and cries.

He also NEEDS a fenced-in yard or he simply takes off. I cannot stress this part enough. He has no car sense either, as he associates them with people.

I really don’t think he’s a lost cause, in fact he’s the sweetest thing ever and a better animal than I’m making him out to be I’m sure, but I don’t want you to take him home thinking it was no big deal and then finding out it is.

He will need some patience and understanding.

Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
