This is our OEB Thor. He is a 3 year old unaltered Male. We are in St. Thomas Ontario. My husband and I are a registered Kennel for UCA for this and another breed (www.nephinkennels.com under sires Thor has a page with more photos). My husband and I had the intent to move forward with the OEB bloodline upon his purchase but there is a great deal of breeding for this breed done in this area and We have kept him as a family pet. We have decided to rehome our sire as we are expecting a new addition to the family and have a full house, and Thor deserves to be in a home where He is the centre of attention (it's a bulldog thing). He is great with our pack and I would hope would have no issues with another pack - but - he is unaltered so I cannot guarantee a smooth transition. |
His adoption fee for family pet is $600 with no breeding rights. If you intend to breed him it is your responsibility to get hip confirmation done and the appropriate bloodwork. Once we have seen the appropriate paperwork to confirm it is ethical and safe to breed him we will sell you breeding rights for $400. If his tests come back unable to breed we will provide you His papers under a no breed contract and no breeding rights. This is our way of ensuring ethical breeding practices. He comes with dual registry for UCA and IEOBA and his bloodline papers which consist of Dragonslayers and Gargoyles bulldogs.
My expectation is that his new adopters remain in contact with us - the same expectation I have with our pups - and I will have a contract for you to sign.
He is available for rehoming to an approved family. I have been holding off on his rehoming as it breaks my heart to move him to another family. Even as I write this it brings tears to my eyes. He has his quirks which is part of our decision to rehome, primarily he has an issue with people approaching his kennel (without food) as he for some reason feels threatened(?). Not sure. We have worked with him closely on this and our only concern is tiny fingers not trained to handle him. He is also very pushy and we have concerns he will not be gentle enough with a baby. Otherwise he loves being in his kennel under his own terms. He is content going in and out and relaxing but isn't fond of being commanded to go in (unless provided reward).
Thor loves going outside. He drinks water like he has been in the desert for days. He snuggles in like a champ. He hates the doorbell and warns off unwanted solicitors. He cries like an orca when he wants to go outside and can be vocal when unsatisfied (once again, it's a bulldog thing). He adores brisk walks where he pulls you from tree to tree to mark it (and will poop 3 times in a kilometre walk). He loves getting brushed and dried with the hair dryer and scratching his back on the carpet, and is often caught jumping in the bath tub after a shower to lick up the water. He is a great pack member as He gets along with other pets without issue. He loves the sprinkler and a pool of water on a hot summer day, and is not dettered by cold weather. He is very much an individual. He likes to sleep downstairs at night on the couch and is very much a family protector. He is a natural with puppies. No matter how much coconut oil or vasoline I put in his nose it remains dry as he shoves his nose in the dirt constantly.
We have had 3 litters for our female with another bloodline in Thor's time with us and we call him the Nanny dog. He is gentle with pups and not aloof of them and commands well when handling them. He loves to run and wrestle. He will need a good size back yard and bulldog length walks. In the car he bounces from window to window for fresh air and cracks me up.
As an unaltered male marking is a very common practice. The only time he has marked in the house is when our female is in heat and we keep an eye on him so this is a rare occasion. He hasn't gotten in a habit of humping objects either.
Dietary wise We have never had an issue with allergies. We keep his wrinkles and his ears clean as they can get yeasty and can coach on his usual problems if they arise. He is currently needing his next booster for rabies (we thought he got the 3 year but upon closer inspection of his record the get only provided a booster) and the main 5 and likely a Bordatella and Lyme depending on your goals with him. He is fine with older children. Just pushy. The home He is in should have at least area rugs to prevent his legs from sliding around and provide him with stable footing. We would want you to meet him in a couple scenarios before taking him home. Bulldogs are special breeds of dogs and require a special breed of human!! As a result you must be experienced with This breed.
I will not accept payment without you meeting him a couple times. And will not ship him.
Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet
While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.
Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.
Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.
When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
