Breed: Great Dane-Boxer
1yr old Great Dane/ Boxer mix
Titan came into rescue after being picked up by animal control as a stray. He had clear signs of an unfortunate beginning and he was very underweight and cautious. He had sores on his paws and mouth from wandering alone and walked low to the ground with his head hung down. He always seemed to have a concerned worried look on his face as if he was very unsure of his surrounding and the people around him. When I first met him he gave me a growl and a look as if he didn't want me near him. It took a little coaxing and some patience and Titan was ready to go for a walk. Since taking Titan home he has quickly come out of his protective shell and is learning about being a dog from his foster brothers and sisters. Titan now stands tall and proud with his head held high. He is slowly putting on muscle and become more confident every day. He loves to run and play and bounce and rough house with his girlfriend/foster sister. Titan is like a big handsome shadow and loves to be close to his people. He hasn't met a dog that he doesn't like and gets along just fine with the three cats he currently shared the house with. Titan has lots of energy and would do great in an active home with other dogs to wrestle with and a big yard to run and bounce in. Titan still need to gain some weight but he is prepared to eat everything to do so and is ready to face the world and all it has to offer him.
Titan has been vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested, neutered, and treated with Advantage. He came to us from London Animal Care Centre.
The adoption fee is $325 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months) and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $100 spay/neuter rebate will be given if they are not spayed/neutered before adoption.**
Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet
While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.
Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.
Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.
When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
