Bonnie is our "wild child" girl. She is a very young 5-years-old (she acts much younger) and is not the dog for someone looking for a laid-back, quiet, couch potato Collie. Bonnie is a funny, playful girl who needs loads of energy outlets. She needs a home that has experience with a Collie with a high herding drive. Bonnie wants to chase cars, bikes, squirrels....anything that moves really. A fully fenced yard for Bonnie's safety is needed for this girl.

Bonnie's foster mom says she is a "velcro dog" in that she LOVES to be wherever you are. She follows her foster mom around, sleeps at her feet and just truly wants to be with her humans. Until she sees a squirrel - then Bonnie would be gone like the wind! Someone who understands that Bonnie won't be good off-leash for bush walks or unfenced dog parks is needed. She will love to go to fully fenced dog parks to play though! And to romp around her fully fenced yard and play!

She is great with cats and pretty much just ignore the kitty in her foster home. She would be fine with a dog savvy cat in her new home. While she is very good with other dogs she would very much like to be the boss. She is excellent with the other foster Collie as the other Collie doesn't mind letting Bonnie be Top Dog. She is not mean or aggressive in any way about it - she is just a dominant gal and that's where she is happiest. She will also be fine as an only dog in her furever home.

A more rural or quiet suburb area will be best for Bonnie. She will bark at the window at passing dogs, people, cars and so on. In a more rural area (or even a quiet neighbourhood) she will be much less likely to bark.

If you are looking to get into agility or fly ball or even herding trials, Bonnie would be a great fit! She will NOT be a good fit for a home where she will not get a lot of exercise, stimulation and fun!

Bonnie is a super nice little girl who will be a fun, happy addition to an active home who wants to see this little wild child bloom and grow!

Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!
