4 hp British Seagull Long-shaft Outboard for Sale

I love this motor! For six years when my wife and I cruised the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Black Sea, I rowed my 9' nesting dinghy everywhere. When I nearly got swept out to sea in the Bahamas on our way home I swore I would buy an outboard. So, we got home, I turned 70, we bought an inflatable dinghy and I bought the Seagull. It suits me perfectly. It's old, a touch eccentric, easy to work on, simple in design and gets attention wherever it goes. BUT MY WIFE HATES IT! It's noisy. It has a clutch but there's no reverse. She told me if we were ever to go cruising again she wanted an outboard with reverse. So I put a 4 hp. Mercury on the inflatable. But I love the Seagull. I changed the jets so it burns at 25 to 1. It comes with a workshop manual, spares, and a Seagull Rescue Kit that a member of our boat club gave me. The stand is not included. The motor is rated between 4 and 5 1/2 hp. It was built in the the late '60s. The previous owner had the fuel tank powder coated so it looks pretty. I put a WIPAC magneto on it as the old Villiers coil was on its last legs. It runs well. Given that I've had the wife longer than the outboard, and the odds of going cruising again get smaller as I get older I thought I should eliminate as many obstacles as I can, so the Seagull has to go. (But I've still got a 2hp Seagull at the cottage! She hasn't said anything about that one. Yet.) I might be able to deliver it, or arrange to have it delivered depending on where you live. I should point out this is a working motor intended to earn its keep. It's NOT a museum piece
