Tap dance Classes

Hello I am Pierre Hobson Artistic Director and Dance teacher at KlaXson. No music or dance back ground is needed to do Tap dancing classes but they are a plus, and all age groups are welcome. It is up to the individuals to decide whether the class it suited for them. Tap Dance is a great workout so come dressed lightly or with attire you would use to exercise. Classes last two hours with a 5 – 10 minute break and have an average of 10 students per class with a set limit of 15. Each class offers one hour technique and one hour choreography and uses all kinds of music ranging from classical to heavy metal. Classes are taught in both French and English. For those interested there are major productions every two years in addition to performing at different events as the production date gets closer. Students can also receive professional training in these classes. The new session begins in the week of January 8th and ends in the week of March 25th lasting 12 weeks. Beginner classes will be held on Mondays 8pm starting January 8th. Classes cost 23$ for a total of 276$ for the 12 week session. Payments are made in cash or by e-transfer or pre-registrations prior to your first class. Anyone who registers late or misses classes may make up their classes within the session (i.e. a student who misses four classes can if they choose come in one week and take four classes. They may spread out their make up classes as they wish). Private classes are available at 50$/hour. Semi-private classes are 60$. Information on shoes will be made available in the first class but generally prices range from 80$-150$. Students don’t need to buy tap shoes and are not rushed to do so. In the meantime students can bring a regular leather soled shoe or anything that does no grip to the floor (i.e. running shoe). The address is 4055 St. Catherine Street West Suite 129 located right beside Atwater Metro. Once inside the building you go downstairs and down any of the two corridors and you will come across the studio automatically.
