The Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioicus) is a decorative nitrogen fixer that grows around 18 to 21 meters tall. In fall, groups of it's leaves turn a yellow-gold and fall in large numbers. Almost like it's snowing! They enjoy full sun, and can tolerate poor soil, partial shade, and drought, making it suitable for any location!
These beautiful and rare decorative trees were once widespread when the prehistoric Mastodon still roamed North America, eating leathery seed-pods and dispersing the rock-hard seeds across the landscape.
