This is a vintage Weltron 8 track player with AM/FM radio. The radio and 8 track player both function and the unit powers on and works. All lights on the unit work as they should and look cool. This unit is from 1970, the year after the moon landing. It came out as one of those cool space age peices after the moon landing in the early 70s. This peice is rare and hard to find. The unit is in pretty good shape cosmetically and has the original antenna. Many times, these units can be missing the radio antenna.
The radio works great, sounds good and picks up plenty of stations.
The 8 track player works but plays a little slow. It also does not have super clear sound like the radio does but 8 tracks were never great sounding. The channel switcher for the 8 track player also works and allows for different programs on the tape to be played when the program switch button is pushed.
The balance slider switch usually works but sound only comes from one speaker when the 8 track player function is selected. I have had sound coming from both speakers at times when playing an 8 track tape on this unit. Both speakers work well and emit sound through AM and FM radio though.
