Quik note - this guitar a great match for the Silvertone 2X12 I have listed with negotiable discount avail if you take both!
This build features a custom-ordered Warmoth "Total Vintage" Fender-licensed Telecaster neck in the beefy ’59 Roundback size, quartersawn Maple & Indian Rosewood (full Warmoth specs are listed below). It was used for a couple years before I bought it and had it sent to Dax & Co. to be reliced (I highly recommend Dax by the way - they are easy to find on Reverb). I had the decal added as part of that process - although the neck is licensed the MJT body is not and so for clarity pls note this NOT a Fender-built guitar. The decal is a waterslide and should be easily removable if you wish. There is a small amount of finish from the previous body this neck was on that rubbed off on the side of the neck heel, a little square patch, but since the relic job it does not look out of place.
The body is an MJT® Swamp Ash aged-nitro model VTT in their Tobacco Burst finish. The body weighed in at only 3 lbs 15 oz before build-out. I would call this a medium relic – very tasteful, not overdone. I have either a gig bag (included) or, for an extra $275, a killer Fender custom shop hybrid case.
The pickups are Seymour Duncan Hot Pickups (11208-11).
Hardware includes a 4-way Oak-Grigsby switch, copper shielding, cream pickguard, chrome control plate, 2 flat top knobs, Tele-style switch tip, CTS 250K Pots, .022 mfd Fender capacitor, vintage style cloth wire (black/white), Electrosocket jack, bridge with notched, flanged Wilkinson compensated brass saddles and four-way wiring:
Position 1: Bridge
Position 2: Bridge/Neck in parallel
Position 3: neck
Position 4: Bridge/Neck in series
From the S-D website:
“Imagine taking the Vintage models and turning up the output. You get a fat and full punch in both the low frequencies and mid-range, yet it retains the muscular twang of the Vintage. The sensitive coil combined with custom length flat pole pieces provides more sustain. The rhythm pickup has a similarly designed high-output coil for full, clear sound and comes with a chrome-plated brass cover.”
