Fernando & Cesar Vera were master guitar makers in Madrid through the 1950's & 1960's, they also made lutes, harpsicords and contributed to the resurection of vihuelas with their design innovations. Madrid at that time was a guitar making center producing some wonderful instruments from small workshops, The Vera brothers were among the best, (listed in Summerfield's finest guitar makers) their guitars are very similar to those by Marcelino Lopez Neito in attention to detail and acoustic properties. Shorter scale than the Ramirez guitars of that era, they still delivered powerful basses and sweet trebles. An elegant, light guitar with soul along the lines of Torres instruments.
This will appeal to a serious classical player/collector.
This particular guitar had not been played a lot and had suffered a little drying in storage (not cracks) mainly around the back binding. This problem was rectified by Alaister Miller & Mark Kett (both very talented luthiers in the Toronto area). The original varnish finish is still intact and has the usual very small finger marks from playing that all classical guitars experience.
