Job Summary:

Henwood Treatment Centre provides comprehensive, gender specific, residential treatment to individuals suffering from drug, alcohol & gambling addictions.

Reporting to the Assistant Head Nurse of the Health Services Department at Henwood Treatment Centre, the incumbent receives direction from the Registered Nurses and the on call physicians. The incumbent must be able to work independently while using critical thinking skills, as well as part of a team. The largest portion of time involves handling medication for up to 60 clients. General patient care following treatment plans is administered and there is a small amount of administrative duties.

Note: Henwood is located by car, 15 minutes from St. Albert, 25 minutes from downtown Edmonton, and 35 minutes from Southgate LRT.

Qualifications:

- Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current BCLS-HCP required.
- Current Standard First Aid required.
- Current Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) required.
- Experience within a residential treatment facility or experience within the mental health field an asset.
