Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in the patients physical, mental, and emotional state, assists the patient with activities of daily living and provides the patient and family with relevant information and teaching. The LPN is responsible to collaborate as a member of the health care team, delivering consistent quality care, to meet the needs of the patient. 2 years experience in an acute care Urology unit preferred. Rotation subject to change.

Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Previous experience as an LPN is desirable. Computer experience is preferred. The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient/client planning processes. Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail are necessary.
