Job Summary:

Providing care for NICU patients in a tertiary level unit, the successful candidate performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. The incumbent will be trained to have a thorough understanding of the care of the level 2 and level 3 neonatal patients.

Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Graduation from a recognized nursing education program. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. A BScN is preferred. Basic computer literacy is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong Family Centered Care philosophy are required. Recent acute care experience, post partum/mother baby care, or pediatrics experience is preferred. Previous NICU experience is an asset.

Note this position may be eligible for an educational opportunity: 2 weekS classes beginning January 9th, 2017. The incumbent will be trained to have a thorough understanding of the care of the level 2 and level 3 neonatal patients. Successful pass of a Math Calculation Competency Assessment of 90% is required to be considered for hire.
