Planned Parenthood Regina- Executive Director

Planned Parenthood Regina (PPR) is a registered charity and non-profit, accredited medical facility. PPR provides accessible, confidential contraceptive and sexual health programs and services to the Regina community with a priority focus on youth and minority populations.

Nature and Scope:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the non-profit organization, fundraising, advocacy, and providing high standards of service and value to our community in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission, core principles and strategic plan.


Degree in a relevant field, including but not limited to, business administration, public administration, social work, health science, et. from a recognized institution
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience and a demonstration of progressive management responsibilities
Must have educational background or working knowledge of human health and reproduction
Must have demonstrated sound financial knowledge and understanding of how decisions can affect/impact results
Must display strong community engagement
Must have supervisory experience with a sizeable multidisciplinary staff
Must have experience and demonstrated success in preparing grant or funding proposals
Thorough understanding of human resources practices and policies
Sound knowledge of government regulatory oversight and processes

Specific Accountabilities:

Articulate the culture of the organizations to stakeholders and community
Respond to the needs of the community and target populations
Motivate and create passion for healthy and safe sexual practices
Work within an anti-oppression framework

Fundraising Ability
Address fundraising as a top priority as part of the strategic plan.
Develop and write grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations
Persuasively communicate the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders
Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with funding contacts
Facilitate special events, fundraising events, and develop salable products & services

Develop and implement the policies of the organization
Practice acceptable accounting principles
Prepare budget and funding submissions
Complete government reports
Develop strategic planning sessions for the organization
Ensure all insurance, ethical and legal issues are addressed
Develop educational programs and oversee all aspects of programming
Monitor emerging populations for program changes
Develop and implement success indicators

Human Resources
Identify human resources needs in keeping with the organization’s principles
Manage benefit programs and make recommendation for human resource benefit improvements
Recruit, hire and maintain appropriate staffing levels
Encourage staff development and education
Monitor workplace safety and ensure safe and harassment-free work environment
Implement policies that meet employment standards

Networking and Liaison
Represent Planned Parenthood Regina, including advocacy for systemic changes
Cooperate and collaborate with government agencies and community organizations
Maintain and develop donor and sponsor relations
Respond to media on behalf of the organization
Serve on boards or committees where the impact will directly affect our target populations
Encourage other stakeholders and volunteers to get involved
Facilitate presentations to stakeholders on issues affecting target populations
