Position Summary

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Mental Health Nurse for the Golden Health Centre. This is Term Specific Part Time (FTE 0.50) position. Days shifts, from 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday only.

As the Rural & Remote Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Nurse you will be a member of a small MHSU multidisciplinary team that includes nursing, life skills work, and paramedical. We are looking for an RN/RPN with a minimum of two years in a MHSU community setting providing assessments, case management, family support, and psychosicial rehabilitation. You will work as an integral part of an integrated mental health and substance use service. The Nurse provides urgent outreach, responsive assessment and treatment, case management, GP shared care, education, and support to individuals experiencing acute and/or chronic mental illness and/or problem substance use.

Education, Training and Experience:

. Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
. Two (2) years' recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment such as Adult Community Support Services (ACSS), Urgent Response, Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT), Elderly Services, Alcohol & Drug or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
. Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC).
. Current valid B.C. driver&'s license.
