Our Greenwood Court division located in Stratford, ON is searching for dedicated person-centered care oriented team members, who wish to work in an environment where residents and their families are provided personal support in “a Place to Call Home” by our dedicated interdisciplinary employees to join our team. Personal Support Worker(s)

(Part time and Casual)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Personal Support Worker will be an integral member of the Nursing team. This position is responsible for but not limited to: providing for the basic care and needs of residents, performing specific interventions from individual resident care plans and assist in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in the residents’ physical and emotional condition.


The successful candidate will have:

  • A great attitude.
  • Graduate of Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent program with a minimum of 600 hours of theory and practicum) at time of application.
  • Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the nursing and health care practices as they relate to long term care and retirement home legislation.
  • Must have demonstrated sound skills and knowledge of providing person-centred care in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures of the MOHLTC and the home.
  • Knowledgeable of the Residents’ Bill of Rights and respects and promotes these rights.
    • Effective communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential.
    • Effective customer service skills and a demonstrated commitment to working with seniors are required.
    • Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, for example lifting/transferring residents.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet professional clinical infection protocols.
    • Ability to deal with responsive behaviour.
    • Basic computer skills are an asset.
    • Certificate in Dementia Care and U-First is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous improvement


  • Tri-County Mennonite Homes requires all new hires to submit, prior to their start date, a valid Criminal Record Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector Screen.
  • 4 week base schedule to include every other weekend.
