Limestone with board and batten addition. Circa 1840. This beautiful home was featured on the cover and in an article on stone houses in Century Homes Magazine (available on request). It has been completely restored to its original character, with original floors and windows. It is also featured in the Atlas of Historical Homes of Hastings and Prince Edward County and a copy of that write up is also available on request. It was built before Canada was a country and before the American Civil War.
Details of the design and construction are available in the two publications above. Room Dimensions are shown at the top left of the photos.
This handsome home is a classic example of the houses built by the United Empire Loyalists and is one of the few surviving examples.
The house sits on approximately 42 acres including 20 acres of woods with walking, horse riding and cross country skiing paths. Panoramic views from the sun porch allow you to see all the way to the woods and the wildlife in between.
The barn has been converted from a 6 car garage to allow for accommodation of horses and two cars. The stall front is bolted in place and can be removed in less than 2 hours to restore it as a six car garage if desired. There is hydro and water in the barn.
Just 15 minutes to Belleville's Quinte Mall
