Vintage Karu Fifth Avenue Choker Necklace. Karu jewelry is believed to be the collaboration of Kaufman and Ruderman in the 1940's, in New York City.
Their jewelry was produced from the 1940's to 1970's.
14” heavy chain similar to herringbone-type chain as it’s not very flexible.
Intricate carving on the piece holding the pendant to the necklace as well as the box clasp.
Antiqued silver tone metal and faux turquoise in the pendant and the clasp. The silver tone metal is worked in the form of curls and volutes. The faux turquoise are not held by claws, nor glued, but are threaded on thin metal pins. The construction and quality of this piece is excellent, as generally in all KARU production.
