Description

Hey there.

For sale is an Acer Extensa 5620 laptop. Used by my grandmother for a few years back in the day, it has been in a closet for the past roughly five years. I've rescued it, upgraded it, and now it's ready to help someone else.

This is a larger, blocky older sort of laptop, but for the time it was made (2008), it was a reasonably good system. It has been upgraded with an SSD for much better responsiveness and boot times (25s) than it otherwise would have. It has quite a few ports (4 USB) to attach lots of peripherals. And even includes a PS/2 port! And a modem! What more could you want?!

The screen is in excellent condition, no dead pixels or scratches. The body of the unit is mainly free from signs of use. The keyboard has the most signs of wear, but it's still pretty good. Some signs of fatigue around the hinges as well.

Specs: - Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5750 @2GHz - 3GB DDR2 RAM - 128GB SSD - Windows 11, fully updated - Office 2013 Professional installed - Built-in WiFi (2.4GHz) / Ethernet LAN - Big 15.4" display, 1280 x 800 (16:10) screen - Functional battery - DVD Drive + Writer - 2.7kg weight

As you'll notice in one of the pictures, the keyboard is missing the number "7" key - but if you press where it was, the key base works and the character appears just fine. The battery is a bit weak, and only lasts for about 30 minutes. But it does work. Might be worth ordering a replacement off eBay.

Now let's be real: this thing isn't powerful. The 2GHz dual-core processor isn't meant for anything intense. The system works great for basic office tasks, running some straightforward local software / files / videos, and can handle most internet browsing. It can run YouTube, but 480p is almost the limit of super smooth playback. Modern Office 365 web apps will probably require some patience. The only other downside is that the SD cardreader doesn't have a Windows 11 compatible driver, but I don't think many people use those anymore.

I would recommend this system to someone who wants a basic, functional home computer, running a current operating system, for an affordable price.

Includes charge cable, of course.

Price is firm, thanks.
